Your excess is probably half (possibly a third )the cost of a bullbar and a claim is not going to help your future premium and history tells us that you will be inconvenienced by this again. I'd be cutting my losses and putting the excess money towards a bull bar.

New key blank with a new transponder $80 from Amalgamated locksmiths in Brisbane . $20 to have the blank cut to suit and a free recode from my Land rover service fellow . A little better than $385 for the key , $125
For coding and $75 for so called registration of the code !
Thank goodness for the internet and independent service mechanics .
