Hi just collected the head for my tractor bit reqs the 8 valve guides so how can I get them in do I req a press ???

G Day Chris, To get the valve guides out you can grind the head round on a 5/16 bolt, poke it into the valve guide from the inside (probably not important which side) and punch them out easily.
To get them back I again get some 5/16 threaded rod and a 5/8unc nut. Bring the guide in from the top, with the 5/8 nut as a spacer and using thick washers and lots of oil you can pull the guide in until it sticks up the thickness of the 5/8 nut. That seems to be the correct amount on guide sticking up. Then repeat process.
I have punched them back in but it is easy to stuff it up doing that as the new guides are cast.
